Biplav Singh won the most prestigious Governers Trophy in 2001 and the following year was was appointed as a teacher at The Calcutta Schoool of Music in 2003. He came 2nd runner up in the Goa International Guitar Festival organised by Guitar Guild Goa in 2006 and was awarded first prize in the National Classical Guitar Competition in Bangalore in 2009 organised by the Spanish embassy. Subsequently he was invited to perform at the Cordoba Guitar Festival, Spain in 2010.
Biplav is the founder of Calcutta Classical Guitar Society and President/Director of Calcutta International Classical Guitar Festival 2010. He has worked in the international award winning film and the winner of the Vivel film fare award for the best background score in the film Phoring.
His album Memoirs is one of the first classical guitar solo album recorded and produced from India by Girona Entertainments.
He is currently posted as the Head of Department, Western Section in the Calcutta School of Music.
Ögmundur Þór Jóhannesson is an Icelandic classical guitarist. He graduated in June 2008 from the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria, where he finished his Masters Degree with honours. He also finished his 2nd Masters Degree in Maastricht Conservatory in Holland. Ögmundur has been the recipient of several international awards and taught masterclasses at the Iceland Academy of Arts, Washington University, Catholic University of Santiago de Chile, Silpakorn University in Bangkok and Xinghai Conservatory in Guangzhou. He is the artistic director of the Midnight Sun Guitar Festival in Reykjavik, Iceland, and one of the co-founders of the Global Guitar Institute.
He is currently active in promoting the classical guitar in the Asian region.
German classical guitarist Samuel T Klemke picked up his guitar studies at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar Germany.
He received the artistic diploma in 2003 with the best mark possible for his solo recital.
He was able to perform successfully in many competitions in the world from Malibu / Los Angeles to Tokyo, from Chile to Martinique, and throughout Europe (Paris, Rome, Madrid).
Samuel has won more than 25 prizes and was often rewarded for his exceptional skills in performing the music of the 20th century. His activities also led to concerts in many parts of the world. He has performed and given masterclasses in the Americas, most European countries, the North East, Japan and in 2010 he added Australia and India to this list.
Samuel has recorded 3 full-length CDs, a single CD and a live DVD. A double CD with the complete 24 Preludes and Fuges Les guitars bien tempered by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco will soon be published.
