Augustin Pesnon is a French guitarist, filmmaker and founder of Paris Guitar Foundation.
Born in 1988, Augustin Pesnon first picked up the guitar at the age of 5. His first historical moment in music was when he met Arnaud Dumond at the Conservatoire d’Evreux, with whom he developed his style and sound in guitar. Interested in the guitar school of East Europe, he pursued his education at National University of Music in Bucharest (NUMB) under the wings of Catalin Stefanescu where he learned a rigorous technical education.
In 2007, the young guitarist collaborated with the conductor Dorel Pascu-Radulescu, and the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra in the Mauro Giuliani, “Guitar Concerto major, Op. 30”. After he returned to France, he continued his study with Alberto Ponce at l’École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot and earned his Diplome Superieur de Musique de Chambre under the class of Genevieve Martigny and Devy Erlih, including a license diploma in musicology of University Paris-Sorbonne and the Diplome National Superieur Professionel de Musicien from the Pôle Supérieur Paris/Boulogne-Billancourt. In 2011, he signed a contract with a Parisian label, Logik Production 36 and released his first album, Aurora. Supported by the foundation of Forum Musical de Normandie and The Rotary Club, he benefitted the advices from Gérard Abiton, Denis Azabagič, Gabriel Bianco, Zoran Dukić, Jérémy Jouve, Adam Del Monte, Rémi Jousselme, Carlo Marchione, and Judicaël Perroy.
In 2014, he started the Paris Guitar Foundation, which still operates until today, and involved in the development of humanitarian project all over the world. Well-known and famous in the world, PGF has created many partnerships with prestigious enterprises such as Savarez, D’Addario, Guitar Foundation of America, Philharmonie de Paris, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Sony Music, Royal Academy of Music, Gibson, etc. Augustin it’s also renowned as director and producer with over 100 music videos, documentaries, and movies dedicated to the guitar world with major artists such as: Marcin Dylla, Judicaël Perroy, Roland Dyens, Yamandu Costa, John Petrucci, Gabriel Bianco, Thomas Viloteau, Montenegrin Guitar Duo, Thibault Cauvin, Jérémy Jouve, Marco Tamayo and many others.
He gained recognition and success through the 10 international competition he has won so far and played concerts regularly in countries such as Germany, Austria, UAE, India, Italy, Japan, Romania, and also Thailand. He plays with a guitar specially made by Greg Smallman from Australia and he is Karura Case’s Artist.
